Information on Chonros (GTP's)
About three months from now I will be getting a juvi GTP out of his breeding program. While I've kept adults before, and had them in a large AP shelve type enclosure, I'm not really sure what to keep juvis in and for how long. I see a lot of people keep them in tubs, but I'm not sure how long they should stay in something like that.
Once in the racks, how do you provide heat gradient? How do you keep the moisture up?
I've been trying to find a care sheet for juvis or from people who keep them in tubs with no luck. If anyone could point me in the right direction I'd be forever grateful!

Here is a good read about them. http://www.amazon.com/More-Complete-...mplete+chondro
Ive never kept one in a tub setup. I house my adult in a 24 inch cube from http://pvccages.com/
The juvi I had was kept in a small exo terra glass cage like this http://www.amazon.com/Exo-Terra-Glas...arium+12x12x18
Regardless of what you keep it in a good humid substrate and misting will keep you humidity up. In my cage I use a mixture of Eco Earth, Repti Bark, and cypress mulch. I then mist when required and my sheds are perfect. I use that mixture because Im not a fan of each of those substrates alone but once mix they really make a great options that is no dusty, but not harsh and jagged either. It holds humidity well and it is visually appealing. Which is a big factor for me as my GTP is setup in a nice display style cage.

Hi KMG,
Would you recommend buying the complete setup with lights and perches? Or is it better to buy these separately elsewhere?
Thanks,

Thanks,
I found that it was worth it to me. It was nice to get the cage and have nothing more to do but to plug it into a Herpstat2 and add a snake. My GTP cage is my favorite and I believe most well made. When its time to get the ETB I want I will be getting another matching cage for it.
