    I don't like suggesting for newer keepers to do this because being too rough and/or too persistent to get the stuck shed off can injure the snake by ripping the snakes good skin, causing a larger issue.

    In most cases the stuck shed is not a hazard to the snake and I believe it safer for the animal if the owner works on the husbandry issue and allow the snake to take care of the shedding.

    I do bring up the towel method on occasion but that's usually after seeing a pillow case suggested. Which I personally don't like.


    It should never take weeks for a keeper to get their humidity right and complete a shed.
