    My first ball python!

Hi guys, I just got my first ball python, a 4 month old male enchi, and I have a few questions.
I'd also just like general advice as this is my first snake ever, I'm super excited to have him, and I don't want to mess anything up.
My first question is, should I take him out of his normal container to feed him? The local breeder I got him from fed every Sunday, and I figured I should keep that routine up for his comfort. I did quite a bit of reading before getting him, and I saw a lot of back and forth information about whether it's okay to feed them in their normal tank or not. Some things said they can become aggressive around feeding time if you feed them in their tank, because they associate the tank with food. Some said it made no difference whatsoever, and that moving them might actually make it more complicated because then you have to have two set ups with heat so that you don't have to bother them by moving them back to their normal tank directly after eating.
    So, thoughts, advice?

my second question is, any suggestions on a name? I know they don't really respond to names like dogs do, but for sentimental reasons I totally want to name him, but I'm terrible at deciding on anything.
I originally thought maybe something composer related, cause I play cello.
    Bach?
    Ludwig?
    Beethoven?
    Frideric?

    Re: My first ball python!

Oops, pushed done before I was actually finished writing.

He's in a large, locking plastic storage container. Holes in the sides for air. I've got a heating pad under one side, hooked up to a thermostat, the temperature is generally around 80-85 Fahrenheit, sticking at 82-83 most of the time. I've got thermometers on both sides, and one on the bottom of the container on the heating side. Only one hygrometer, kind of middlish of the container. He's got a bowl of water on the cool side (should it be on the warm side?) the humidity is hovering somewhere around 68-75%, though it drops dramatically any time I open the top to do anything in his container. It goes back up pretty quickly, and I have a mist bottle nearby in case it goes lower, though that's in the range that I looked up in research before I got him, so I haven't really misted him much, unless I just opened the top and the humidity dropped.

I just got him on Friday, so I'm trying not to handle him too much, don't want to stress him out right before feeding time.
I really want to, though, so I was wondering how long is the right amount of time to leave him mostly alone?

any advice? Should I be doing anything differently?
I really appreciate any responses. Super excited to have him.
I've always loved snakes, but was never allowed to have one because I lived in my parents house, and my mother point blank forbade snakes in the house.
Moved out a couple months ago, that's why I got him.

For now I've got frozen rat pups, cause that's what the breeder said he fed him. At some point I think I might like to try breeding rats to freeze myself, though. Not near future, cause I just got him.
    But eventually.
    any advice there?

Thank you all for any responses~

Feed him in his enclosure. It is more stressful for a BP to be taken out of their enclosure to be fed. You are also risking a higher chance of getting a bite and for the snake to regurgitate.

You can feed your snake whenever. If Sunday is the best day for you then you can do so. I feed every Wednesday regardless of when the breeder fed the snakes I purchased.

A name is up to you. I have some BPs that I named that sounds horrible, others I think are really cool. Out of the names you picked, I guess I like Frideric the most. Ludwig second. Don't like Beethoven as there are too many out there named that (particularly dogs and cats) and I am not even sure how you would pronounce Bach...

    Re: My first ball python!

Thanks for the advice! I sort of felt like it would be better and easier to feed him in his container, so I'm glad that's alright.
Sunday is most convenient, so I'll probably stick to feeding on Sunday.
Is there a specific time of day that's best to feed? Or does that not really matter?
I'm leaning towards Frideric as well.
