Thank you all for the supportive words, they made me tear up quite a bit while I was reading them. It was also really wonderful to hear all of your stories as well <3

Re: Ball pythons as antidepressants
I love this! I suffered from depression in my younger years before I had someone / something else to take care of. Having something else there to focus on really does help. Now when I'm bored I find it enjoyable and rewarding to just clean snake cages.

Re: Ball pythons as antidepressants
I struggle to understand life the way others do, and having my ball python Marshall is really helpful. When I feel overwhelmed I take him out and watching how he moves, his sideways tongue flicks, and feeling his skin really helps to calm me down. He is just so simple, and its something I can understand.

Re: Ball pythons as antidepressants
Thank you for sharing! I too struggle with depression, have since high school (26 now) and I feel the best anti depressants are my animals. Taking care of them makes me feel useful and important and I enjoy having so many wonderful creatures relying on me for everything. Which is probably why we're at:
2 cats
1 dog
5 rabbits
1 chinchilla
2 hamsters
1 bearded dragon
1 parrotlet
5 ball pythons
