My baby ball ate live and I got it on film finally!

First off I wanna thank everyone for the help they have provided so far. I truly appreciate the help with getting the husbandry correct and getting my snake to eat early on. I also want to add that BOY ARE THESE BPs SENSITIVE! LOL! As others have mentioned you really need to have the temps/humidity correct for these snakes to eat comfortably.

That being said, even though my BP is a petsmart bought purchase that supposedly fed on F/T, since mine has gotten home he has only eaten live. Here is my first video of the little guy eating. I've only seen this happen a few times live and am still amazed how they do it! Hope everyone enjoys...let me know if you think everything looks good.

Looks like a good little eater.

When a moderately sized or larger piece of subtrate is hanging on any of my snake's mouths or food, I just reach in with my tongs and pull it off.

I try to come in at an angle where they don't see me coming. Regardless, it does not interrupt them one bit because they are so focused.

The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

Yes...it was a small piece of bedding! I didn't know what to do, thanks for the advice.

Also, I planned on changing the bedding out today. How long should I wait after a feeding to disturb his environment like that? Should I expect a good poop after feeding? That would be another reason to let the old bedding go a day or two...

    Thanks

Expect them to poop when you don't expect them too . It is almost impossible to guess when this is going to happen. I have had snakes not poop for over a month and then all of a sudden they let go of a huge load. I have also had snakes i just clean after pooping go again 5 minutes later . So expect the unexpected.

    Nice snake btw.

The general rule of thumb is to wait at least 24 hrs before disturbing/handling your snake.

Myself and some others here prefer to wait 48 hrs.

As far as pooping, New2me said it well.

If it was my snakes, they'd poop right after I cleaned the cage...

True to form, I come home from work today and Brisket pooped right outside his hide and dragged it in with him and Mrs. Kitty soiled her enclosure as well. I just cleaned both yesterday. Lol. Kids, sheesh!
