    Escaped

A couple says after going to the vet and now he has escaped! My wife text me this morning and called me about 5 times to tell me that Leo has busted loose. And she can't find him. She turned the heat up in the house. And headed out. The kids had to go to school and her to work. I just made it home and the search begins oh my.

Oh Leo, I can't believe what this snake is putting you through! If you don't have any gray hair, you will soon.

If I remember, he's not small, so he shouldn't be too hard to find.

    Best of luck!

The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

How do you draw 10lb six and a half foot long boa out of a coach?

    Oh no!

From what I hear from others if you can't get a good safe hold, depending upon how the couch is made, you take the couch apart.

You may try getting a rat and blow the scent at the couch and see if that gets his attention. Then try to lure him out like a carrot. If he is a shy eater, after scenting, lay the rat 6-8 feet from the couch and then you hide and watch.

    GOOD LUCK!

I used a f/t mouse to entice a king snake out of a speaker when he took an unauthorized slither a few years ago.

Make sure your snake is all the way out of the couch before you give it the rat; my little dude almost managed to drag himself and the mouse backward into the speaker to eat it.

Will do. My local shop always gives me feeders inside a box with a screen on it. I'm thinking about just sitting the box in the middle of the floor. Most of the time he's hunting the second I walk through the door with feeders. What a keen sense they have.

    Amazing smell!

When I used to feed live my BP would be at the door just itching to strike as I walked into her room. And then when I opened her door she would strike the rat outside of her cage. I would just pick her up and put her back in while in full coil.

I think this pic with an f/t rat.

could put the rat on a heat mat in the center of the room to give the whole area that nice, ratty smell. You know, far enough away from the couch so the snake can't imitate a bungee cord and pull a "grab and go"

    Re: Escaped

Got them down there now in the box sitting on a short stool. But I got in before my wife had to start cooking. I wonder if the food smell is throwing him off. My luck he will come out later tonight. He's got to smell it though because snickers is in another room and he is half body out of his hide smelling away! Leo is a bit grumpy these days.
