New set up, questions
Ok, so I have a 2 year old male BP, I've been keeping him in a glass tank since I've had him but have grown tired of trying to keep the humidity up to par. I'm planning on moving him to a sterlite bin so I have some questions .
I've read the uth's I have aren't real efficient on plastic bins so I want to move to heat tape and a new therm. Right now I have the reptitherm 500r that I don't want to use because it's a pain. Here are my questions.
1. How much flex watt should I get? The bin is approximately 33 long and 19 wide.
2. Is flex watt suitable as an only heatsource?
3. Thermostat, since I only have the one BP will the hydrofarm be suitable?
Also, my girlfriend ordered me a new baby butter bee so I'd like to get his bin set up as well before he arrives (too dam cold in wyoming have to wait for better Temps )
Thanks for reading.

Check out a herpstat 2. That way you can regulate both bins. I like ultratherm pads, they come ready to use, and are available in many sizes. You want to cover about 1/3 of the bottom with the uth.

Re: New set up, questions
Oh well those definitely seem to be at a much better price point for the size vs the zoomed. Thank you for pointing those out. As for the herpstat 2 I wish I had that kind of budget because if I did I'd have a much larger collection lol.

Re: New set up, questions
I use ultratherm uth's and hydrofarm t-stats on all my enclosures. I've used them on tubs, tanks, and pvc enclosures. I'm considering upgrading to the herpstat 4 but it's really more for aesthetics than increased performance. The hydrfarms have worked great for years.

Re: New set up, questions
Oh man nice set up and thanks for the info. I have another question though what is the best way to keep up ambient Temps I don't feel the uth would be up to the task. I don't want to cut a hole in the lid for a light but I will If necassary. My house stays fairly the same temp all around 70 to 72. So I need to increase the heat in the tub.
