I don't know what to do

So Apollo had a bad shed and at first I was just going to do the normal things, I gave him a soak based on the instructions from the post that's stickied on the site. The bath worked well and all the shed came off except for the piece on his head, now he has a significant part of his head still under shed. I can't peel it off, I've tried giving him another bath and I left him alone for a couple days to see if he would get it off, nothing's worked. One of his eyes is still under the shed and I'm afraid if I leave it for too long it could hurt him.

    This usually works.

Step 1. Don't panic he will be fine. The shed will probably come off by itself next time around

Step 2. Increase humidity in his cage to 65-75%

Step 3. Put a small clean slightly rough rock in his cage.

Step 4. Wait patiently until everything works out fine.

    or

Get a breathable cotton pillow case that is clean, rinsed in plain water and dried.

Then get a towel, and dip the towel into water that is 81-84 degrees f.

Put the snake and the towel into the pillow case.

Fold over the top of the pillow case and put it into the snake's tank. Leave the snake in the case for about ten minutes.

He'll probably rub off the shed.

It can take a few shed cycles with correct humidity to fix a bad shed problem. What is your snake's setup like?

Check your humidity and try to bring it up a bit. When Jynx has shed left on his head I take a q-tip, dip it in warm water them massage gently around the edge of the shed. Once the skin starts coming up I take my pinky and lightly massage the rest of it off. Of course move slow and make sure he's not getting stressed if he's head shy (Jynx tends to be head shy so it takes a couple of tries).

I suggest covering most of the screen top with foil or something to keep in the humidity

Ok, that setup explains the bad shed. A tank set up like that is almost impossible to keep humid - the warm, moist air will constantly rise out of the tank and allow cool, dry air to flow in.

I would get an under-tank heater (UTH) large enough to cover 1/3 of the bottom of the enclosure along with a thermostat to regulate it. The UTH should go underneath the tank with the thermostat probe sandwiched between the heater and the underside of the tank. You will probably have to raise the tank up a bit (I've used scrap 1x6's) so the tank floor doesn't rest on the probe and crack. Set the heat pad so the glass over top of it in the tank is 90-92*F. Put about 1/4" of aspen on the glass and put a hide over the heated area. If the heat pad is large enough you can add a second small water dish over the heater, the warm water will evaporate quickly and increase the humidity.

Once the UTH is set up and running correctly, remove the heat lamp and completely cover the top with either Glad Press n Seal or aluminum foil. You could also make a top out of plexiglass. That will keep the heat and humidity in the tank.

I would also replace the half-log hide with something made out of plastic or ceramic. Once the heat and humidity increase it's going to get moldy pretty fast.
