Red LED for night time viewing?

I'm putting together my AP T10 enclosure this weekend and i went out yesterday on xmas eve and got a LED light strip for daytime viewing. So I'm at work thinking, yes i work on Christmas, could i take a stained glass paint and just paint the outside plastic of the light strip red and use it for night time viewing? I know snakes can't see the red spectrum but i don't know much about LED lights so i don't wanna put something in that's gonna make my snake think its always daytime haha. Don't really have the extra money for the expensive colored LED strips i find at Lowe's and Amazon and such and the white LEDs are much more along my price range. Yes i know i could just use a normal red bulb but i really wanna take advantage of the slim profiles and low heat/electric usage and longer life of the LEDs. and Merry Christmas everyone

I have LED lights in two enclosures that have about a dozen colors. I only use the red and the white.

I leave my lights off until I am checking on the snakes. I use the red at night and white during the day.

Now three of my tanks have red heat bulbs on 24/7. One tank has a no color heat bulb which I dislike because I can't see inside.

Since LED's don't put out any noticeable amount of heat I think it will be ok.

As far as the red reflecting enough, I don't know.

definitely! i can get a regular LED strip for $24. just need to add sealant to one end of it to keep moisture out and the paint should do the rest. if it works and still gives off enough light for night viewing I'll be ecstatic haha

The stool is kind of goofy. Being my first plastic enclosure which is taller than most, I found out that I needed a "shelf" somewhat near the RHP to give a hotspot. It's a bit ghetto, but encourages climbing for exercise as well.

Ya I have a pro panels lol my first one and I need a shelf or something for it. I imagine it wouldn't make a difference what wood it was since it would be finished and everything

Is that fiber optic decorative lights? That's much brighter then I would of guessed!

Well my first trick didn't work but I'll post what I tried anyway. I got some cheap stamping ink and just ran it along the length of the light bar. Honestly it would of worked but the ridges on the model of light I got were to close together for the ink to get in there. If it would of worked I was going to take some paint Sealer to it to make sure it wouldn't fade.

But that didn't work so I ordered some of those colored reading page that DJs use for light filters and wrap it around the light bar and use a hot glue gun it secure it. I know that'll work haha
