Hey everyone!! i havent posted on here for a while... i went to NC to get my boyfriend (the Marine ) and then we went to Myrtle Beach. Let me tell you.... hurricanes are AWESOME!!!! i dont know if any of you live on the ocean, but Hurricane Charley came right through where i was!!!!! When we got to Myrtle Beach at midnight, the had done a mandatory evacuation of all of Myrtle Beach... but of course, im not gona let anyone tell me i cant see a sweet storm. so my mom (the one who drove us) took tons of detours and we eventaully got to our hotel :-D. it was cool though, the place was COMPLETELY deserted!!! Around 11 in the afternoon Charley came blastin through myrtle beach.. it was only a catagory 1, but it was sweet non the less! did some damage and stuff, but i was watching through the window the whole time. i went out when the eye of the storm was above us, and about 10 minutes after everything was dead silent, it came back full force. so that was why i wanst here!!!! aaaaiiiiieeeee, hurricanes are cool when they're not THAT destructive!!!

ok.. so why i REALLY posted... i came home today from the airport to find Pandora's eyes are cloudy and she has a VERY pink belly. i didnt know she was gona start, but when i picked her up she looked really p*ssed that i got her out, so i put her back before she nailed me. how long does it take for them to actually start shedding? my dad said he didnt notice any pink belly or anything while i was gone, and she ate fine on saturday. so it obviously started today. im worried, i work tomorrow from 7-5 and i dont wanna miss it!!!

It'll take a week or so, most likely, but timing varies. Good luck catching her in the act. i rarely do.

Hurricanes need to be taken very seriously. There is over 11 billion dollars in damage from Charley, thousands homeless losing all thier possessions and last I heard 17 are dead here in Florida. Awesome in the sense that hurricanes are very powerful forces of nature but not awesome in the sense that we should wish that one comes our way....don't mean to sound preachy but this one hit a little too close to home.

Sophie, read the last line i typed. I mentioned how they're cool when they're not that destructive. I definately wasn't implying that all the damage and the people that got hurt was cool. So don't worry about it, i don't wish for peoples death.

I caught a tropical storm when I was in St John, USVI a few years ago. Wasn't even a hurricane, but by far the most bad@ss storm I've ever been in. It was like nighttime had come at 11am. Completely rearranged our villa's deck furnature. I can't imagine what a category 4 hurricane is like. Crucial stuff...this last one killed 19 people so far, and counting.

Yeah its very hard to catch them actually shedding. If today is cloudy eye day #1 you've got about a week to go still so don't worry. My siters snake shed 2 days ago, I swear I missed it by 5 minutes because I left my room came back and it was there. And was still partially wet when I took it out and so was she in places.

people need hurricane proof houses. out here in cali all the new structures are designed to withstand powerfull earthquakes, not something that is awesome to be causght in. even the most recent small one was enought to knock people on their butts, and scare the crap outa them. i have been in severe storms when i lived on the east-coast. i used to live in lexington park maryland, and we had the tail of a hurricaine come up once.. it was pretty cool as a kid, but all grown up i can see the downside i didnt see years ago.
