Feeding question.

I thought I'd make sure Im doin things right so Ima ask. Amy is well over a foot long, I dunno exactly because I haven't measured her, but Im feeding her one hopper every monday. My question is should she be eating a bigger mouse than a hopper? it seems that she can barely handle the hoppers, they make a pretty big mound inside her. Also, is one a week good? thanks.

Once a week is right on . As for the size of the prey, you just need to make sure that you are feeding something that is just as big or just a little bit bigger than the girthiest portion of the snake.

my bp is 7 weeks old and about 20 inches long. i just upgraded her to small adult mice, which seems to be the perfect size for her. but like led4urhead said, the real measure is to make sure the mouse (or rat) is the same size or just larger than the widest part of the snakes girth.

right, two snakes could be the exact same length but one may be skinnier than the other so you cant really judge what to feed them by thier length . if you can tell there is a mouse inside her when she is done feeding than that seems like a good size mouse for her
