Ok so here is what I know. He was/is still under his water bowl when I got home, I am going to leave him there as he obviously feels safe. I have noticed he has been doing a lot of burrowing lately, especially under the larger hides at the cool end and hot end.

I checked the water. there was one brown "thing" in the bottom. I mange to hook it out, it was Mite sized but I could not e sure thats what it was. I squished it on some white paper and it was a brown kind of color. So I am going to leave him under his water. I will check tomorrow morning if he is back in the dish, if he is I am assuming mites and will start with the treatment tomorrow. If he is not I am going to assume no mites, I will still start the treatment but I will start the treatment on Saturday. I will also get a couple of smaller hides on Saturday too!

    Thats the plan. Thoughts?

    sounds like a plan.

just remember to use Reptile Spray on your lil buddy and PAM in the enclosure. fog it up, let it settle and air a little before reintroducing Monty.

It mites, he is back in the water this morning and I caught a mite running along the edge of the warter bowl . So plan of action then.

Treat Monty tonight, remove substrate, and furniture remove water bowls. Vacuum and clean cage. Replace furniture but not water bowls spray cage with Pam . How long should I leave Pam in cage before I air it out and how long until I let Monty and the water bowls go back inside.

I will go back to using paper towel for substrate.

Last time he had mites did you follow up two weeks later with the PAM again?
It is okay to use pine bedding for snakes.
It is okay to feed live food to snakes.

No I did not. I think that was my mistake I was loathed to use the PAM.

How long should I leave the PAM in the cage until I air it? And then how long until I put Monty back in?

i've never had to use PAM, but i do have a can on standby just in case. i've only used Reptile Spray on my Normal girl when i first got her. (and to wipe down each new snake i get.)

but i've seen Youtube videos of PAM use. let it settle, dry and air for 30-60 minutes it seems.
