    Red face Castiel

So I originally joined this forum in late 2007, when I purchased my very first ball python, Freddie Mercury. I was a classic newbie with lots to learn and you all were really helpful with your constructive criticism. Only because of the advice found here did I really get a ball python's husbandry down pat! For whatever reason, I stopped posting actively here sometime in 2008. In January 2009, my grandmother was put into hospice care in Cleveland, Ohio. (I live in Louisville, Kentucky.) My family dropped everything to go up there to visit with her. She died within 24 hours. In the meantime, a massive ice storm hit back home. Even though the funeral was imminent, my dad, brother and I rushed home (a 5-hour trip). But it was too late. I still still new to the area, having just moved from Lexington, so I didn't know anyone to call to try to rescue Freddie. In any case, there was no power anywhere. We arrived home to a frigid house and my beloved snake was belly-up. :'(

It's been almost 7 years. I'd loved that darn danger noodle so much but I couldn't bring myself to get another for the longest time. I was really, really afraid of something like that happening again. It really was devastating. But I bought my own home this summer and even during the worst weather, we haven't seen any power outages in this area (unlike where I was living in 2009). There are several vets right up the road that I assume use generators in the event of an emergency but, if not, I know several people who could provide sanctuary if necessary. Hell, I could take it to work if I needed. Basically, I've done tons of research on how to keep a snake safe in the event of a power outage, heh. So after all this time, I finally decided to get a second noodle puppy. Back in 2008, my dream morph was a piebald but it was way out of my price range. Morphs have come a long way since then, so imagine my delight when I discovered my favorite morph was now actually affordable.

Without further adieu, here's my new friend spaghetti, who's named after my favorite Supernatural character:

Anyway, thanks for reading. Thanks for everything. :)
