The waiting is killing me
Today is day 3 of Mashadar being in blue, and I'm really missing my little late night / early morning TV buddy. His tank is in the living room / study and every night since about a week after I got him, he's come out of his hide right at 10 pm, gotten a drink, moved to his hot hide and curled up with his head sticking out the door or laid out along his branch like he's watching TV too. Some nights he even curls up around my arm or in my lap for a while calm as could be...but the last three days, I haven't seen him at all
I know it's totally normal and he'll be back to his old (if shinier) self in a few days, it's just hard to wait

is this your first shed? u must be on pins and needles! but don't worry, let him do his thing. u just make sure temps and humidity are on point for the shed.

1st shed with me. Temps are great, but I'm actually having a hard time keeping humidity down. It's fluctuating between 75 and 80%. I use cypress mulch and moistened it (just mixed some damp stuff in with the dry so it's not dripping wet) as soon as I saw him in blue, so I had to move his water bowl away from the hot side since it was adding even more humidity. He has a moist hide, but so far he hasn't used it, so I guess the ambient humidity is fine for him. I'm super nervous and excited

is there condensation building in the enclosure? if not, i think it's fine. if u are still concerned, remove the humid hide.

None on the glass ( where i spilled a little water when moving his bowl, there is a little fog in only that corner under substrate level) or in any hide except the moist one,

Your fine. Just hang in there! It will be worth the wait and he will look like a new snake
Your humidity is fine. Just make sure you allow it to come down after the shed.

You bet, I must be doing something right if my humity is that stable, Even before he started to shed, it holds at 50-58%, and it's a tank with a screen lid. I don't even have to keep misting the substrate. Just two water bowls and a damp rag on the lid if needed

wow that is nice...i ended up modifying my lid in order to help with heat retention. I live in wisconsin though so it is needed lol.

Won't be long now! He poked his snoot out of his hide while I was changing his water, and his eyes have cleared

Nice he will be done in a few days! I just noticed yesterday that I have a total of 7 snakes currently going through shed lol. Never had so many at once!
