He is trying to get out, but fortunately hasn't rubbed his nose or scales off (yet). Someone else suggested that the dropping ambient temps due to the season might be a reason, so he's seeking warmer ambient temps? Which is a possibility.

It was actually the first thing I thought of a couple weeks back, but reptilebasics is out of stock in their 11x23" Ultratherm pads for the past two weeks. They're still out of stock, and even they have no idea when they will get their next shipment. I'm planning to just buy three of the 11x23" UTH's and have them be what all three of my guys will use as adults.

Well, I wouldn't think it was weird if he's always been like this. But he's always been a blob in his hide, same setup and everything, and just suddenly became very active in the past couple weeks- and the behavior apparently isn't going away, which leads me to question why.
