Bananas - Freckling (Black Spots) and Genes Question

Newcomer to the site and BPs in general. Getting one in the spring and doing as much research as I can from as many sources as I can get my eyes/hands on. Now there's always some not so great info mixed in there and I had a question related to the Banana morph and their freckling (black spots).

Now I can't remember if it was a specific gene that took those completely away or if it was the more genes mixed in the less spotting/freckling there would be. Is there some truth to this (either a specific gene/morph that takes it away or if the more genes added in the mix takes it away/lessens it)?

Like the banana morph, not so much the spotting/freckling.

If you like banana or CG but not the spots look into Banana Mojave combos.

You might also want to look into a different mutation all together that is very similar to banana except it does not have spots

Lol personally I think the freckling is adorable. It just reminds me of a really ripe banana

My pastel banana has the freckling and I like it. A banana just isn't a banana without them. But of course this up to you of what you like. You try a Lavender albino. They are kind of close... sorta. As babies they look like a normal albino but the grow the purple as they get older.

My lesser banana male doesn't have any freckles.

Great thread! I found it very interesting that some combos (mainly with BEL genes) like Mojave, Butter, Lesser, etc when combined have reduced or no black spots/freckles. Interestingly enough, Super Bananas also have zero spots!

Great question... I too want a banana with no spots. I recently saw a Fire Banana that did not appear to have any spots. It was still young, so it may get them, but there were zero on it that I could see. I'm looking for a young, speckle free, banana male to grow up with my Mojave female. Maybe some Banana Mojave's in my 4 year plan.

I think the spots are adorable too. But I honestly don't know of any morphs with banana that doesn't eventually get the black dots.
