My Blood finally pooped after 21 months. But,I had to help her. Uric acid had hardened and clogged her up. She never refused food until the day before I unclogged her. I had tried swimming her in warm water. Taking her outside in the warm sun. Then I soaked her in warm water ( 87-90degrees) for 2 hours, then palpated her until I got some uric acid chucks to pass. From then on it was like squeezing out a sausage. I was amazed at how much Uric acid came out, but how little the poop was, considering how much she had eaten. She had eaten 65 times!!! She's all cleaned out now and ate 3 days later.
I feel bad that I let it go that long but she always ate and showed no signs of discomfort. I figured she'd let loose when she was ready..The day she refused food right after shedding, I knew it was time to act. All the talk about how long Bloods can go without pooping and VPI saying they've never had a constipated Blood, I just wasn't that concerned. Some of the Uric acid clanged when I threw it in a ceramic bowl. It had hardened and was blocking her from going.
From now on, I'll put my Bloods in water and make them swim if they haven't gone in 4 months or so. My male Blood goes every 8 months.
FYI. My Bloods are about 28-29 months old. So she was eating mice the last time she pooped and now she's eating large rats.
