Normal? Banded? Can't wrap my head around this

Recently bougt two females. One normal, and one ''banded''
The ''baded'' is definetly prettier than tha ''normal'', but is she really a banded? What IS a banded? Genetic? Reccecive? Dominant? Line-bred?

It's a normal now whether the reduced/banded pattern is genetic that can only be answered by you in the future, you will have to breed your BP to find out.

When I used to own normals all where reduced/banded none were genetics, now that does not mean that yours is not.

There are recessive reduced pattern (for example NERD) but also co-dom ones (for example Jolliff).

It does not affect the value of the normal offsprings you will produce however it is a great animal to pair with certain mutations (Selective breeding definitely makes a difference and if it is genetic it will be even better)

this girl is super nice with very clean pattern, very little noise. long road to prove out this kind of morph because it s never gonna make money for you and most of the genetic banded are recessive.... So think well before going that way because it will cost you to raise and breed a little 1.3 group to prove out a no $ value morph.

But honestly if you prove that out you will have the admiration of many here because the hobby start getting tired of the business part which forget animals well being ( i m thinking BHB/wilbanks Scaleless comedy, Nerd GOD statement opera, Lehrer 10 years old rainbow copyright demantia... and others i wouldn t name that make me sick).

Looks pretty similar to one of the normals I hatched out this year. There is so much variation to the wild type ball python that I wouldn't really count on it being genetic, but if you feel like making the attempt, by all means go for it.

Here's what my bandy hatchling looked like after her shed. She's the one down at the bottom, and this is the only picture I have of her not balled up. Her brother, the tiny normal above and to the right of her, also had some really cool pattern going on, but his was busier and with more static. Mom was pretty but doesn't look much like either hatchling and dad was a lesser bee, so no telling there. I suppose it could be genetic, but I'm not convinced there's any genetic gold shining through in this clutch.
