I've heard they all have it to an extent, but it isn't always a major concern.

Beauty - Are carpets bitey?

I have heard various things, but in this guys case he never has bit or struck at me. Also my female Jungle Diamond Carpet is the same way, she has never. With both I feed in the cage, and use a hook if planning on picking up. Once I have them, a bit more squirmy than say a Red-Tail Boa, but settle down the more I handle them.
I did see a very young male nippy at a Reptile Show here in San Diego. It was funny, the lady (selling for her husband) was trying to convince me they breed very social carpets; as it struck at my son and bit her in her arm, and a few more random strikes! Least to say, I did not buy that one.

Hi Gio, not so much at least typical descriptions I have read, but he is a little different. I do see he does look out of his hide upside down at times; if I am holding food or just going to grab him and he finds me behind his head, he will instead of turning around he will go inverted until he realizes it is difficult to support/focus this way he turns and inverts himself back to normal.

My yearling coastal and 2.5 month old jungle are both really docile. I was expecting them both to be a bit more defensive based on a lot of what I'd read but I was pleasantly surprised. Neither of them have ever bit or even struck at me. I guess it varies from snake to snake.

I have had the same feeling and experience.

I actually was selling reptiles about 15 years ago (a partnership at a petstore) and had a Jungle that I would never get out because of the reputation, I was a lizard guy at the time. One day I came in to check on the petstore and this teenage girl that was working for us, was holding the 5 foot Jungle I was afraid to get out! After that it was my favorite snake and held every day, even marked the price up from $175 to $300 so it would not sell... someone still bought it.
