Feeding after regurge

So my BP regurgitated a fuzzy rat last week that I assume was due to being handled the day after feeding (yes, my fault. lesson learned). I have since cleaned his cage and let him be and he spent the first few days in his hide not moving at all. The last two nights, he seems to be back to his usual self and has come out for a drink of water a couple of times and back and forth from his cool to warm hides. Last night he was even sitting in his hide with his head poking out, which is usually a sign of him being ready for a meal (usually an immediate strike when he's like this and I introduce food).

I've read before to wait two weeks before feeding, but he seems hungry and ready to eat. Tomorrow is my feeding day normally, which means it's 6 days from when he regurged. Is that too soon to feed him? I was thinking of getting a fuzzy mouse or rat pinkie to get him feeding again and trying to just feed him on schedule.

Is there a compelling reason why I shouldn't do this?

As for his husbandry, he is in a divided T8 with a 90-80/75 degree temp gradient that has suited him well for the past month that I've had him. He currently weighs 135 grams. He has been a fearful boy since I got him and I plan to move him to a tub when I get a rack as I think he will be more comfortable. I notice that he tracks anything that moves in my room and will retreat to his hide (vs my other BP in the T8 that will just come to the window and see if you'll let her out). I'm hoping his fear level will decrease as he gets older. I currently am trying to handle him just once a week (of course not this week with the regurge).

The main reason is to make sure all the "juices" in its stomach have settled and ready to digest.
Many time if you feed too early they will regurge again.

Wait another two weeks and then offer a feeder a size lower than what he was eating. If that stays down you can offer a small meal again in two weeks, then in a week, and then resume your normal schedule.

So it sounds like even though he looks ready to eat, I should hold off another week. I was already planning on giving him a smaller meal (mouse fuzzy/rat pinkie) than usual.

Yeah, I would wait it out. He is healthy enough to take the missed scheduled meals. Make sure he has enough water to soak and to drink in the meantime. The gastric secretions and acids from the stomach are very strong and irritating to the reptiles digestive system when they are projected forward in the regurgitated meal.
