    Bumblebee woes

I have a beautiful bumblebee morph named Jellybean (the snake in my profile pic) whose corkscrewing has gotten a lot worse in the past couple of months. She can keep her head pretty steady and she eats and sheds very well, but her corkscrewing makes me a bit nervous because I'm worried she'll hurt her neck or something. Is there any way to calm her down when she starts doing it? She loves to explore and she does it a lot when she does that. She also does it a lot at night in her tub.

    Re: Bumblebee woes

I am not a big fan of the spider gene but I ended up having one in my care anyway (long story and irrelevant to the problem). Mine is basically a train wreck. It also bothers me a lot to watch it so you are not alone. Mine gets real bad when he is not "happy" about something and when he feeds. If he is acting up I check the conditions in his tub. The majority of the time he has either defecated and is trying to leave, which I have heard is the case in the wild when the defecate or shed, or he is just plain hungry. When I clean up his mess and or feed him he tends to calm down.

The spider gene definitely adds some stuff two other morphs, but I don't think I will get into breeding them. It's just too much of a variable for me knowing that they might get the wobble and corkscrew. It's kind of like with the sterile female deserts, and I know there's another one I forgot but there's just things that I won't create because of the problems they are known to have.

I have a spinner that wobbles significantly when she is stressed or excited, especially at feeding time. Thank goodness she takes f/t because her aim is so bad that it takes 8-10 tries for her to hit the rat unless I put it within an inch of her nose.
