    Baby king pics

Think I may have this figured out now, so thought I'd say Hi and share a few pics of my MBK, Diaval

He was getting ready to shed when I got him (first couple), but 'cleaned up' nicely

How do you find him? I almost picked up a MBK but I chickened out at the last second because of the musking. I think they're so beautiful but I'm really creeped out by the thought of getting musked and the breeder said they do it almost every time they're picked up when they're little.

He is gorgeous, btw! I really regret not getting it =\

He's wonderfully sweet! Very mellow Hasn't musked or messed in any way since he came home two weeks ago Another family member has a Mex.Thayeri King that I don't recall ever musking either. She started out a bit flightier than Diaval, but is settling nicely too.
He's my first king, used to corns & balls. I'd also heard kings weren't quite as laid-back, but he was SO cute And seemed nice at the rep.store. Turns out he has a fantastic personality, and is just a dream

Maybe it's not too late to change your mind on the one you were looking at? Maybe you'll be happy too!

Congrats on your beautiful new little King!
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

Very nice king Ex. My MBK is a real sweetheart too. She's never bitten or musked me either. She's actually my shyest and sweetest snake. She's also my fiercest feeder. Nobody hits their prey as hard as she does. She's knocked the tongs out of my hands a time or two. Sometimes they get a bad rep but they're really great snakes to keep. Best wishes with your new guy!

My Desert Kings have recently picked up the habit of relieving themselves while out of the enclosure. I now always start with a paper towel on my lap. The thing is, I'd rather they use the towel than dirty the tank. Also, both do so at the very beginning of a handling session and it is pretty clear from their more twisty jerky movements what is about to happen.

*Shrug* ...they're high metabolism Colubrids. If I ever decide I want a snake that almost never poops, I'll go buy a Short-Tail.
