Fed ball python too soon... Should I do anything?
So, totally stupid situation here. Usually I feed my ball on Sundays. It's routine. Lately, my work has been insane (I just came down off of a 27 straight day work streak) and all kinds of hours. I went to visit my dad a few days and was going to have the boyfriend feed him but I forgot to take a rat out. No big deal, I said I'd do it when I got back since he didn't have time to thaw one. I took one out Wednesday morning when I got home, and fed Argus on Thursday.
Well, come this Sunday, I totally forgot about his last feeding being delayed till he had half of his rat down his throat. He struck eagerly and ate immediately - there was a little hesitation that had me wondering but I didn't put two and two together till too late. I'm worried now that he has too much food in him.
He weighs about 900-1000 grams, he hasn't been weighed in a bit. The small rats are a bit small if you go by the 10-15% rule and the last several feedings he has been cruising around after his rat looking for more- I have been waiting to use up my bag of smalls to try one of the smallish medium rats. But they do still make a decent lump in him. Now he has two decent lumps. He looks like quite the fatty right now.
Obviously I'm going to leave him be and digest now for a while. He has his hot spot of about 90. Think he'll be a right? Should I skip next Sundays feeding, or maybe wait till he poops (since he hasn't in a while?) Or just continue on like normal?

Actually, it only takes snakes 3 days to digest a full body rat (relevant to weight, the perfect size) so to say he has two lumps is kind of doubtful. Your snake will be fine and you can even feed him again next Sunday without any concern.

He's definitely fine! Snakes are opportunistic and if it's a small rat he's good to go. I agree you can feed him Sunday as well. Some people feed every 5 days, everyone does it differently.

Well, maybe not two clear lumps, but about 1/3 of the way down is certainly fatter than the rest! I'd take a pic but I'd rather leave him be to digest.
Thanks! I'm glad to hear I didn't royally screwed things up

Ball pythons are remarkably hardy about such things. He'll be fine and probably thinks it was quite a good week.
