Yes I am talking about a plastic lid. I need to note that I am not going to be putting the lamp directly on top of the lid or anywhere near where it would melt the plastic. I am able to hover the lamp at any distance so that is not an issue I will also be using a dimmer. I just wanted to know if people thought that I would be able to bump up my ambients this way so i do not have to cut the lid.
