Ball python showing his belly?
I'm new to ball pythons and have tried to find some posts on this in the forum but haven't had much luck. My male ball python has recently taken to occasionally sleeping either curled or lightly looped and parts of his belly showing up. He did have a large meal but it was a week ago (today is feeding day and I haven't fed them yet, they get offered every monday). He is a baby, I've had him for a couple of weeks and he's eaten every time I offered and has had a clean shed too. I'm wondering if the belly up is too warm? I have them in ambient 80-ish around their tub, with a 90 degree heat tape at the back of their shelf, water at the cool side and cypress mulch bedding. The humidity if anything is a bit too high so I took steps to lower it today. (I had it up for shed but they're both done now). Cool side of their enclosures is 80. I just want to know if he's not feeling well or if that's normal python sprawl and he's just having a good nap lol Oh and he has had a couple of big dumps since that big meal too so everything is "moving" in the right direction. And when I say "they" I have two snakes but they're in separate enclosures.

Probably nothing. This is the only reference to it in my care manual. I have heard they just do that kind of stuff sometimes. If its a spider Morph I would chalk it up to "normal Spider weirdness."

Re: Ball python showing his belly?
Hm, thanks for that. I'll keep an eye on him. So far it's just a middle bit that kind of half rolls up but the rest of him is normal. No other symptoms, level head normal tongue etc. He's on my shoulders right now being quite normal (meaning getting hopelessly tangled in my hair) so hopefully he's just a bit of a weirdo lol

Re: Ball python showing his belly?
I would think the only non medical reason for it other than maybe just being comfortable that way is they might dissipate heat better though their belly and could just be trying to cool off some.

Are your heat sources regulated by a thermostat to make sure that they don't get too hot? If so, then I would relax and just keep an eye on things. If he's eating, pooping, and shedding well, then I doubt there is a problem. Oh, and pics please!!!!!

Yeah I have a shelf set up with heat tape on a thermostat so all good there. He seems normal otherwise so just being a clown I guess?
