The long-term plan is definitely to get her a 4' wide arboreal cage, probably from
Animal Plastics. We'll be going to the Tinley Park NARBC show, so if sales of leather goods this weekend go really well, a bigger cage could happen sooner.

I knew carpets would hang out in the open more, but my husband's adult corn snake, who is often out of her hides, retreated to the hides for a couple weeks of settling in after initial cage exploration. So I was wondering if not using a hide was an carpet thing or an individual thing.

I keep telling myself to be patient, but letting new snakes settle in is hard on my patience. She bopped my hand when I was swapping out the hide last night, but I didn't feel any teeth and she stayed in her spot, which is encouraging. My juvenile delinquent Honduran milk would have either teleported away, or chewed on me.
