Like, I've used it before rehabbing snakes that looked like they had just about been sawed in half but switched it out with betadine after a short time. I wouldn't use it for a snake where the scales were currently intact but just had infection in them though.

EDIT: With the severe injury I was talking about it was definitely a 'vet-needed' situation, but it was a wild snake someone else had found that I was walking them through the rehab process as there were no plans to take it to a vet and it was basically the only way that animal would have had a chance. The snake made a full recovery and was released.
