I personally use pine for bedding, never cedar though. Pine has a smell but it is not strong at all.

But strong smelling is a good way of putting it. This includes certain cleaning supplies however I will use diluted vinegar to sanitize my tubs. But do not use cleaners like Windex, bleach, or multipurpose cleaners or anything else with chemicals in it. Keep in mind everything pretty much has a smell. Smells that are safe would be dirt smells (coconut husk, reptibark, cypress mulch, moss), just don't go outside and grab dirt from your garden. Keep in mind that even certain wooden hides are made with unsafe woods.

And even though there are things marked for snakes, some things are very unsafe. Reptile heat rocks are a good example and even zoo med, top of the line reptile supply company makes them. Best thing for you do is if you are unsure, google it. Look up reviews. Come here and ask about a product.

A person on here said there snake swallowed the reptile carpet, so keep in mind that even though it looks safe, it isn't.
