    Feed sizes?

So my bp is in that weird inbetween size where large mice are too small and a small rat is too large. I dont want to overfeed him or even hurt him with a rat too big, but I also don't want him to still be hungry. Will two large mice be too much? or should i try the small rat?

weanling rats are the answer! feeding 2 large mice works too, unless the snake has the "I would never eat two things at once" attitude.

Some will tell you to go with the bigger size, but I do not agree with this. I followed that advice and my snake regurgitated, which is not fun to deal with at all! Stick with two mice, unless you can find weaned. If he won't eat two in one feeding, just go with one large mouse, better safe than sorry!

When the choice is too large or too small, go with the smaller food. If it's way too small, the snake will simply refuse it, but if it's just on the smaller side and still acceptable to the snake, you can double feed until he's big enough for the other food.

It is okay to use pine bedding for snakes.
It is okay to feed live food to snakes.

Is your snake only eating live at this point? Only asking because I have no problems finding F/T crawlers and weanlings, especially online.

    Re: Feed sizes?

When I acquired my normal, was told she was eating small to medium rats. She refused small rats for about month. Switched her to 2 adult mice per week. Until she was big enuff for small rat.

I only have a petsmart and petco around me. And their reptile options are very... limited.

Check out online options. You have to buy more at a time, but I'm sure it's cheaper and better quality them petsmart. I just ordered 25 rat pups delivered for 47. I could have gotten more, but only had 50 to spend after ordering the snake. Check out big cheese rodents.
