    Hey everyone.
I've been lurking on this site awhile, but I finally decided to join today after finding a thread about viper boas. My name is Tracie, I'm a senior in an undergraduate veterinary program in mid-Ohio. After my graduate work I'm planning on getting a specialist's degree to work on herps with better authority. I'm currently in Cincinnati for the summer, but I return to Columbus in about 3 weeks.
I'm mama to a juvenile Ball (Ruby) approaching her 1st birthday, and an as-yet unnamed Viper or Solomon Island ground boa of unknown age. I'm guessing she's fairly mature, as she's about 3 feet currently. Aside from that, I have a rescued special need cat named Phoenix and a red-bellied piranha named Skrinkle. (For a vegetarian, I keep a lot animals that eat other animals for some reason.)
I don't watch TV, but I read voraciously and I'll listen to almost anything. Industrial music is my first love, but I have a soft spot in my heart for Johnny Cash. I swear too much, I sleep too little, and I really, really like hot pink.

Compadres, it is imperative that we crush the freedom fighters before the start of the rainy season. And remember, a shiny new donkey for whomever brings me the head of Colonel Montoya.

Thanks! I've held a few positions in the veterinary field as an intern, most recently at the New England Aquarium in Boston working on their vet staff. I got to feed our Anaconda a few times, and what an experience! Nothing like frozen feeder bunnies first thing in the morning. I've also worked in The Ark on Pauley's Island in SC, where I got the chance to work with some really amazing exotics like coatimundis. I've done a lot of work with independent rescue programs as well, so I'm really looking forward to FINALLY being done with school and being able to help educate new herp owners on better care. Plus getting to play with their snakes. Heh.

....and lots and lots of feeder mousies.....
