I'm back from my conference, and while I was away Ramona shed (one piece---yeah!) and pooped too (it was gigantic!). Anyway, I went to the petstore to get her a rat and they were all out. She's a wonderful eater---always hungry---and last week I only gave her one little mouse, as she was starting to go into a shed.

So I picked up 3 mice. Here's the question---should I just give her 2? Or offer all 3? She's successfully eaten an adult rat before. She's a great eater---but I don't want to overwhelm her system, and I don't know how much food would be too much Thanks!

we used to feed our snakes 2 mice every time. we then switched to feeding one mouse per feed. i was told snakes can get air between the feeds, and have no way of getting it out. also i think the one mouse after another may be too much. i would feed them the biggest mouse, and wait till the next feeding, or just wait 5-7 days before feeding a rat. thats just me though.

I try to avoid feeding multiple prey items at one time. It has the potential to mess with their digestive tracts and cause some damage to the inside of your snake. I would just give her the biggest one you have, and wait till next week to get her a rat.

Compadres, it is imperative that we crush the freedom fighters before the start of the rainy season. And remember, a shiny new donkey for whomever brings me the head of Colonel Montoya.
