Yea that can be done.
BUT...
It may be a problem when it comes time to change the batteries on the device.
Unless you find a way to keep a collar on a snake but that would only help if it escaped as a thief would simply remove the collar.
Then there is the option of a semi permanent mount on the snakes body but that would only harm it and also come off during a shed.
I think you are out of luck on this.
