Ball Python won't eat
Hey everyone I have a pied born about a month ago, and he won't eat. I fed him the week I got him in and he received a very small scratch (less than half a centimeter). It's been about 2 weeks since he last ate. Could the scratch have "tramautized" him? He gets close to the mouse and acts scared. I have tried f/t and live. His husbandry is perfect. I'm not sure what to do. I've also read the stickys and have had no luck.

Weight and temps?
There are a ton of things that could make a hatchling not eat.
Need more info.

What do you call perfect?
Perfect according to you might not be perfect for your animal. For an easy transition I always recommend people to provide an environment as close possible to the one provided by the breeder (at least until the animal reaches 200 grams)
If you have not done so, switch the BP to a 6 quarts tub max until it reaches 150/200 grams. (Security is the number one priority for hatchling that small)
Use aspen as bedding. (Provides additional security)
Provide a hot spot of no higher than 86/87 (in a tub that small to high of temps do not allow much room to get away from the heat if the animals feel the need to)
Offer a 6 inches plastic flower pot saucer as an hide. (Provide tight hiding place = increase security)
Once you made the switch wait a week and offer food in the tub, offering a LIVE mouse hopper.
DO NOT handle your BP until it eats for you 3 to 5 times and keep it to a minimum until the animal is a bit bigger.

My male Pied ate a hopper for me yesterday after laying down some aspen in the tub the day before.

I just tried to feed again and he wouldn't eat. I'm desperate at this point.

How much does he weigh? If he's lost a significant amount of weight for a hatchling, you might need to resort to force feeding. Have you tried a pre-killed hopper and leaving it in front of him if he's scared of movement?

I'm trying this method as we speak. He is in the tub, but he pays no attention to the mouse, it looks like he is trying get out of the tub, but the lids on.
