Lost an Egg in the Final Days

On Day 53 two of my eggs started to look a little bit off (slight green hue. Bit wet looking.) I couldn't determine a cause, but decided to give it a day or two. As far as I know, temperatures and humidity have remained perfect.

On Day 55, I decided to cut the two eggs after candling them and seeing no movement. Just as I had feared, the babies had died.

Has anyone else had this happen or know of what might cause an otherwise healthy looking animal to die in the final days? I removed the baby for a closer inspection and couldn't see anything obvious that would have caused problem. This is the 1st time I've lost an otherwise healthy looking animal/egg like this and its kind of got me bummed.

One of the babies ended up being a perfect little black bee. =(
