That's actually why I posted this now - if I get a new male soon he'd be out of quarantine in December. I could use one of the current males to stimulate follicle development in autumn and then swap out around December/January and hope for a double-sired clutch. I'd like to get a multi-gene male, but do eventually want a super fire so it may have fire in it yet!

Actually just sold my super pastel male! Fireflies are nice, but the local market seems saturated with them and there aren't many that really wow me as adults. Though I wouldn't mind having pastel in my collection again, I'll be super picky this time around.

That's not a bad idea. My only concern is being able to tell the vanillas apart from the fires, but I have this forum to help with that.

Of the two you have listed, I personally prefer the look of Fire Mojaves over Black Fires. If you don't add a male, that'd be the pairing that I'd do.
I have two females that are still growing - a pied and a leopard enchi lesser. Technically three with a mojave hatchling holdback. I've got a candy male lined up for the pied female (at least first; black pastel het. pied to follow the candy), but no one for the LEL yet. Still have time though, she's a whopping 450g. One of my eventual goals is to buy or produce a hypo pastel enchi, and a longer term goal is to get into desert ghost, so I could definitely make the excuse that a pastel vanilla male/eventual vanilla scream would be good for those projects. Hypo enchi fireflies? Desert ghost screams? Where do I sign up!?

What is your ultimate goal for that project down the line? If you have a goal, that is.

Myself, I'm hoping to get a fire girl up to size this year; as well as pick up another. One I would like to breed to my yellowbelly fire, with the goal of producing a black eye leucistic. Something I've always wanted. The other I would like to breed to my orange dream, because that combo goes together very well. Especially as you start mixing it with more mutations.

Personally I would shoot for an orange dream. They're a great morph to have in your collection.
Yes, those are the only breeders I have for the time being, with a few females still growing. I may pick up another or replace the normal female with a single/double gene, but that'd be tougher to line up for this season than a new breeding male. Too many variables as far as quarantine and follicular growth.

I don't have one cohesive ultimate goal, but a few different projects in mind. As I mentioned just above, I'd like to get a hypo pastel enchi anyway, and eventually bring in desert ghosts as another recessive project, so fire would definitely add well to either of those (especially if I combine the two!) I do want a super fire, but I like a lot of variation, so I'd rather land a BlkEL as a byproduct of other great combos than just try fire x fire. Orange dream would be another great addition to those projects. I like your idea of fire YB x fire - a YB BlkEL would be a clean-up powerhouse to have on hand!
