    Enclosure Questions

Im going to be re-caging my 2 burms into there permanent cages soon. I was looking into a bunch of different manufacturers and was wonder what everyone here kept there burms and retics in. Pics, manufacturers, cage sizes, and how you have them heated would be greatly appreciated.

I was looking into BoaMasters cages that they have that are 10 foot x 48 wide x 30 tall. and was thinking of using radiant heat panel, or there 8 foot x 36 wide x 21 tall. I cant find reviews on there cages any where other than their pvc cages and thats not what im looking for. So inwas wondering if anyone here happened to have any? and if so how do you like it?

So any input at all would be greatly appreciated

I have two Boamaster 8'x30"x18" melamine enclosures with RHP's for my retics. I purchased them used. My only complaint so far is that even after being cleaned they still smell a bit like urine inside so I don't know if some flowed down into a joint or what.

I also have two Monster PVC enclosures of the same size. I use 11"x24" strips of heat tape for them. I like them better than the Boamasters since they are lighter weight so it's easier to move them around if needed (which trust me is NOT often), they have removable center dividers so they're very useful for housing boa breeding pairs, and they don't retain odors.

If weight wasnt a factor and the cages were bought new and sealed properly at assembly, which cages would you honestly prefer.

6 x 3 x 18 will be fine for most. A lot of people including myself use the Vision 632. If you need or want to step up a size I would go for an Animal Plastics 8' enclosure.

My only concern with the AP cage is i just recently got an A30 which is 72x48x24 for my frilled dragon and that back panel is pretty flimsy. Does the 8 ft hold up well with a 150 lb snake in it when its stacked 3-4 high.

My two BoaMasters are the base of a stack and have several smaller racks on top of them. I don't know if it's the weight of the racks or if it's because the melamine/wood expands with humidity, but the sliding doors stick and hard to slide open/closed.

My two Monster enclosures are the base of a stack with four 4'x30"x18" melamine Boamasters on top of them. I haven't noticed any flexing issues and the drop-down doors open, close, and latch easily.

Honestly if I could swap the melamine BoaMasters for Monster or some other PVC enclosures I would.

I do like my 48" melamine Boamasters but they have drop doors, not sliding doors, and because they are smaller they are easier to move around and handle if they need to be serviced. They're still heavy but two people can move them.

How do you like the drop down doors in comparison with the sliding ones? Id be fine with the monster cages if there that sturdy. I just looked into there website. Im guessing they ship them fully assembled and sealed?

I bought all my enclosures used so I don't know if they are shipped assembled or flat-pack. I had to pick them up with my truck.

The only reason the sliding doors on my Boamasters have issues is because they stick. I have some T8's with sliding doors that don't stick and they're not a problem.

Huh. Was just on his website. From a brief tour, looks like he is still taking orders. Maybe he chose to focus just on the cages? I hope so, because I would really like to see these in person. From the pics, they are some of the nicest I've seen. Someday, I want a big Burm, and I want it in a NICE cage.
