    Seperate cage feeding

Is it recommended that you feed your bp in a Seperate cage than the one you keep it in?

Feeding in the tank is way less stressful for the snake. And the cage aggression if you feed in cage is a myth I feed all 34 in there cages

    Re: Seperate cage feeding

I have always fed my snakes in a separate cage with no issues i have had many corn snakes and i have now had ball pythons for 2 months. i have read many things for and against feeding in and out of the same cage. to be perfectly honest i would feed it wherever you think its better for the snake. i know ball pythons like eating in a hide so i have a hide in my second cage for them to eat in so they feel more safe.

    i hope this helps

In all technicality you are more likely to get food refusal and to get bit transferring a snake in food mode back to the cage...I sure wouldnt want to be moving my retics or burm during or after a feeding thats for sure...and not to mention the time it would take someone with larger collection like my self to move every snake to a different bin to feed...that would take me hours....If its a smaller snake that cant afford to miss a meal I would definitely not move them at all to feed....it comes down to what makes the snake happy.

Yes, it is recommended....generally by people who don't know what they're talking about.

It is a personal preference. No, it is not recommended as it is stressful for the snake and you are risking a nasty bite. But I know people who feed live do transfer their snakes because of the droppings live rodents leave behind in the snakes enclosures, I personally don't find this an issue but I guess some people do. I could not imagine feeding every one of my snakes in separate enclosures though. And also snakes are not dogs that can be trained to sit at their food dish. They won't know the difference between feeding tub and home.

most regurgitation stories and food refusal stories I hear are from people who feed in separate enclosures. Then they come here and ask why their snakes aren't eating.... Hmmm... I wonder why? But anyway it all comes down to personal preference but I know personally that I would never recommend it.

In tank 100%. Cage aggression in BP's is a myth, its easier, less likely to get bit....why would you not?

Liiike the big box pet stores. If they would change those brochure/guides that would be a huge step in the right direction.
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

But changing their brochures doesn't sell that extra feeding container that you "oh so desperately NEED to have"!
