Small fort her age? Am I feeding her correctly?
Hello!
So I have a 9 month old BP who is almost two feet long, but only 158 grams... I feel like she's very light for her length and age. I might be wrong but I've seen people say that their 9 month old BP's are 400 grams. I know that the store I got her from was only feeding her once every two week, which I know is not appropriate. I just got her a few weeks ago, and I've been feeding her one rat fuzzie once a week. Should I be feeding her every 5 days instead? She takes down the rat fuzzies, but it takes her a while to get them down so i'm not sure feeding her two would be a good idea. Would just like some opinions and input!
Thank you!

Compared to my 350g 9 month old it is a little small. But BPs grow at different speeds. I also agree that feed 5 days apart and its up to you wither you want to feed 2 fuzzies.

Thanks guys! It's just easy to get concerned with all the stuff you read on here sometimes! I will definitely start feeding her a fuzzie every 5 days.

Yeah they really should have been feeding her more than once every two weeks. Just like human babies, snake babies need plenty of nutrients to grow big and fat. Once they are older, their metabolism changes as they slowly stop growing in length. This is why many people choose to feed adult snakes a large meal once every 7-14 days and babies every 5 or so days. I think you'd be doing well by feeding her every 7 days. She'll gain weight overtime seeing as how this is already twice as much as she was fed at the pet store lol! If you'd like to speed up the process 5 days is great.
But I would hold off feeding two rodents every feeding just yet. Remember this is probably a big step for her. If you really want to feed her two food items, wait through a few weeks of your current feed schedule then throw in the size rodent you have now plus one slightly smaller if possible.
Good luck and best wishes

My boy was over 600 grams at 9 months. He's nearly 12 months now and he's over 800 grams.
Feed her more. Every 5 days a fuzzy for 6 to 8 weeks, then move to pups.
