Regurge?
Hey there! My BP is about 2 months old now. He was eating hopper mice for the breeder, but when he got to me, he only took fuzzy mice from me. So, I've been feeding him on f/t fuzzy mice since I got him about a month ago.
However, I noticed (even when I got him) he's a little bit on the skinny side, and when he's curled up I notice wrinkles in his skin. That made me think his meals aren't big enough or he's dehydrated, or both. I haven't actually SEEN him drink, so I bumped his humidity up a little bit.
He shed a few days ago and went 7 days without a meal because of that. I normally feed him every 4-5 days since he's thinner and so young. He took a fuzzy for me the day after he shed (decent shed too, 2 big pieces). I try to feed my snakes on Friday consistently as a schedule, and since this baby is a little skinny, I decided to feed him again even though it was only 2 days later since I was feeding my other snake. I offered him a hopper and he took it, and I was thrilled! I didn't disturb him afterwards, but a few hours after my snakes eat I like to check on them to make sure it went well. I lift up the hide my BP is in (different than the one he ate in), and I see the hopper that I /saw him swallow/ earlier....
It looked just like it did when I fed him, so there wasn't mucus or anything nor was it digested at all. I didnt even notice a foul smell or anything. Did he not fully swallow it? Regardless, I removed it and let him be.
Just curious what caused it? Was it feeding too soon, is a hopper suddenly too big for him now?
As far as husbandry goes, his hot side is 90-92 degrees on a UTH controlled by a thermostat. I keep his humidity around 60, bumped it up for shedding and recently I've been trying to keep it around 70 as he seems dehydrated. After he started eating for me, he's eaten all meals just fine with no problem.
I'll try a fuzzy mouse again in a couple of weeks. I've been handling him daily but I'll wait until he takes another couple meals before I try that again.
This is the first time this has happened to me and I want to understand it and address it properly. Thanks in advance for the help.

Re: Regurge?
It sounds like he struck it then didn't eat it.
I usually re-heat and re-offer them if I catch them quickly enough.
Two days is a bit too close together for feedings - try 3-5 days and see how you both get on. It might also be possible to get him to take two at one sitting. Just wait till he has eaten the first one and reset his jaws before offering the second.

See, I saw him swallow it though. He did that thing where they "sit up" a bit after it's in their throat, so I saw it in his body. I only saw this at a glance though, I walked away after I noticed (he doesn't like an audience!)
I figured it might've just been too close in feeding. If you don't think it's a "real" regurge, is it ok to feed him in, say, 4 days? I might try the 2 fuzzies and see if he's alright with that. If not... I have a carpet python that doubles as a slithery garbage disposal. He will eat anything!

How much does your snake weigh? It's highly unlikely a mouse hopper is too big, unless your snake was extremely small when born. Most BP's first meal is a mouse hopper and they move onto adult mice very quickly.
It is okay to use pine bedding for snakes.
It is okay to feed live food to snakes.

When I last weighed him a couple weeks ago he was ~67 grams, which seems kinda low to begin with...
