"Gold Flake" Spider
I hatched this guy in June. I had him for sale, but he just had his second shed and the gold flakes are becoming brighter. Now I'm thinking of holding on to him for a few more sheds. The pic isn't the greatest and the flakes pop more in person.
Is it me or does he have more speckles than other spiders? Please tell me what you think.

Almost looks like glitter on him.

Most flakes I've seen on a spider 👋 idk if that would be a hold back for me though 👐

I'm just thinking of holding him for a few more sheds to see if the flakes light or just fade away. The bloodline he came from I've had since 1998. A very "dark" normal female that always produced "dirty/ speckled" babies. Produced a Mojave a few years back with speckles instead of the normal donuts. This is the first time I bred Spider into this "dark" gene.
Maybe something...maybe not. I think it may be worth it to hold on to him for a few more months.

It's not just you I think so too. I'm not a breeder yet but I've seen a few spiders and he's hot some really pretty speckles!

Pics please. I have been looking at every spider I can find. Some have a few light specks, but not as much as he does.

Keep him, breed him back to mom next year. Call it the "glitter" gene if it proves.

I have tried son x mom (both "dark" normal looking) and produced more dirty/peppered babies. Nothing to special looking. I will post some pics when I get home of past offspring that have a different look to them.

Interesting, the gold flecks do look particularly bright. Well, hope it continues to lighten and something proves. I'd keep him for a few months too!
