    Woma Pythons?

So I've been looking into a snake. I've decided a retic was a little snake more than what I can handle after doing more research. Some snakes I've been looking into are Dumerils Boas and Red Tails but I recently came across Woma Pythons and I'm starting to like what I'm reading. They don't get really huge, have an awesome feeding response, easy to care for, and in general, I've heard they can become quite docile, of course I do know it varies from snake to snake.

I just wanted to know if anyone owns one and if you could tell me personally what they're like? Also, does anyone know when these guys are typically available as hatchlings for sale? I'm seriously looking into getting one of these guys sometime next summer.

HLH Reptiles breeds them. The last batch seem to be all sold, but you could contact the owner - Jordan Shaw.
He also has some videos with them, so you more of a look
I like them a lot too.

Not as many breeders of Woma's as you see in redtails-- about on par with Dumeril's. But they are available.

Mine is sweet to hold but sometimes needs a tap with the hook to remind him that it's handling time, not feeding time. Great snake for educational presentations-- I have used him many times in that capacity. All in all a great snake to have if you want that "big snake" feel without the irascible nature and super huge size of the retics or burms.

That's my guy Dingo, a 2008 male. He came from Ron Sims of Midwest Colubrids, but I don't think they exist anymore.

    Re: Woma Pythons?

I just got my first Woma from Jason Baylin of East Coast Serpents. I'm not sure if he has any hatchlings left but he gets them on FT before he ships and mine ate on the first day. They are beautiful little snakes and mine, so far, does not have an aggressive feeding response. He prefers me to drop the rat pinky into his enclosure and within a minute he takes hold and wraps it up. Within three minutes he's back to hunting. I have read that Womas are extremely susceptible to overfeeding so I am being careful with mine. If you get one I think that you will be happy, they are very different from my other pythons.
