So the temperature of the enclosure is fine but im having trouble dealing with the humidity. Its pretty low. I tried taking a damp cloth and placing it on the top of the enclosure. He has a fairly decent size water bowl. But i guess its cause its a mesh top the humidity wont stay in. Any suggestions on getting the humidity up.

Yea snake cages work great for snakes fish tanks work great for fish... Tin foil the top and use a substrate that hold moisture well like Cyprus much or eco earth.. Search how to setup a 20g tank using the search button.

Yeah ive been reading the setup guide for the 20g tank. I just thought it was a odd thing to put tinfoil on the enclosure. I guess that would effect the overall heat too.

Yea it help with the heat and humidity as best it can. Cardboard wrapped on tin foil is another option...last thing you can do is to make a humid hide.

Maybe but maybe not. Depends on the snake. Some need more security than others.

Wrapping the sides and back with thick paper or foam will also keep heat and raise your temps which is desired in some cases.

I still have two glass tanks and I find them much more visually pleasing than the ugly pvc cages I also have. In both of my hides in the glass tanks I keep moss. Doing this with the screen covered gives me great sheds. The overall humidity still reads low but it is much higher in the hides, which is where is counts since your snake will be in them most of the time.

Yeah he favors his make shift basking hide. His cool side hasnt come yet. But i have a long branch that he likes crawling under and coiling up on the cool side. I think im doing pretty good for someone who hasnt had a reptile in forever. I picked him up from someone who didnt have time for him and they basically gave me the basic stuff they had so i have to rebuild. Most of it was done just waiting on a few odds and ends.
