Emerald Tree Python or Tarantula; Who's Bite Is Worse?

I was wondering since I've been told that Emerald Tree Python's bite is the worst in the snake kingdom, but I've also heard tarantula bites are pretty gnarly too. I was wondering if you've been experienced with both or either, I want to know your experience with how the bite was and how it felt. I know everyone has different pain tolerances but I want you to include that too. Rate the pain from 1-10! I'm curious what's worse.

Ive not been bit by one, but my friend who breeds them only handles them with a glove for that reason.

A GTP bite is not that bad. Their teeth are longer than many but they are so sharp you really don't feel it.

However, I believe the ETB bite is worse than the GTP.

Either compared to a spider is well, apples to oranges. Get one of each and then you can answer this yourself.

I have been tagged by a GTP many times. I have a pretty high pain tolerance and on a scale of 1-10 with 1 being none and 10 being a ton I would say most of the GTP bites I have had are about a 2.

Never been nailed by any of the spiders I've had, or scorpions for that matter. I did have a large red knee rear up and unfold her fangs once while she was on the back of my hand. She calmed down after a moment, but that's as close as I've gotten. The ETB that tagged me did so a few times. Pain was not that bad, just startled me more than anything. There's a definite impact, and they're fast. I'd give it a 2. Then again I walked around on a broken leg for 3 weeks no knowing it.

I have never been bitten by a spider so I can't answer about their bites. One thing that I think you need understand about snake bites is that there are different types of bites. The usual bite is due to a snake's nervousness and this type of bite rarely hurts at all because the snake tags you and lets go immediately. The other type of bite is when the keeper makes a mistake and is bitten during feeding time. A feeding response bite from a python or boa can involve constriction and the snake generally does not want to let go and the more you move the harder the snake bites and constricts. I have made my share of dumb moves over 35 years of keeping snakes and I can tell you that even a 6' carpet python can deliver a bite that hurts when it thinks that your hand is food.
