Big update!
I had ordered from Big Cheese Rodent Factory but I forgot they only shipped on Mondays and Tuesdays, and I had placed the order last Wednesday, so i had to wait a full week and a day or so until I got the mice in. At least it gave her time to adjust! I took a hopper out in the afternoon and left it out during the day to thaw on its own so I could attempt to feed her by night time when she goes out and explores. I placed it underneath the heat lamp ontop of her screen top for it to warm up (and for her to start getting a scent) for 5-6 minutes until it was warm to the touch. I used a hemostat, but the hemostat was pretty large and the decor branch in the tank along with the small "feeding window" on the screen top made it difficult to get a good angle to present it to her.
In the end she got spooked and hid in her warm hide, I was pretty disappointed at this point because I thought I messed up and thought she wouldn't eat. However, I'd heard of people leaving it in front of their hides and then having them been eaten by morning so that's what I did, I placed the hopper right in front of her warm hide entrance and within 30 SECONDS she struck and ate it straight away! I'm so happy she ate and that my first time feeding EVER was a success, if a sketchy one at that, hah.
A question though, i also ordered rat fuzzies (10-19 grams as the description says) which are a bit bigger than the mouse hoppers that I got (8-11 grams...though the one I fed her weighed 7g). I'm wondering if I should attempt to switch her to rat fuzzies as soon as possible so that she'll grow up eating rats and not have a problem switching later on, or if it's healthier for now to continue with mice hoppers and switch to rats at some other point.
