Our animals from this pairing are actually from his bloodlines, but from talking to him that animal hasn't actually been proven out to be lavender just yet (as in hasn't been bred to a visual lavender yet), which is why I haven't been sure and haven't wanted to go by that one completely.
We hatched two clutches this season from a lavender poss het caramel male to two poss double het lav/caramel females. One clutch had 8 eggs, the other had 4. Both females proved out double het and the male proved out at least 100% het caramel. The 8 egg clutch was an interesting one, we lost one baby before day 50 (came out completely white, assuming the yellow pigment just hadn't filled in yet), but of the remaining 7 there were 4 lavs, 1 caramel, and 2 normals. One lav didn't make it because there was a vein twisted around the cord, it died not long after emerging despite efforts to save it. Of the others, 1 lavender was flawless, high contrast, no kinking whatsoever. The two normals were also flawless. The caramel and one lav had minor pigtail, and the last lav had a minor spinal kink. The two lavs with any amount of kinks were also significantly lighter than the flawless lav, which is why I found this so interesting.
Since there wasn't an incubator issue, and caramels are notorious for kinking, it could make sense that there were 2 double recessives in the clutch which would explain both the lighter color and the kinked lavs. BUT! I know that doesn't mean 100% that they are, and since the only available reference for the double recessive looks more like a caramel and isn't 100% proven to be homozygous lavender, I am still unsure of what to think about it.
I could probably get some photos if that would be helpful, but I was looking for some thoughts on the results of the clutch.
