    Fall damage?

I brought home a baby ball python today (my first!) and she has been very active in her habitat... what worries me is she keeps climbing up the sides, looking for a way out, but she falls down sometimes, sometimes even into the water bowl. Is there something I need to be doing to prevent this? Is there a chance of fall damage (she's in a 20 L)? Should I put padding on the sides of her bowl and hide so she can't hurt herself on them?

    Thanks for any help!

hahaha okay so when my albino first started doing that I was really freaked out too. honestly I don't think that it's a problem it's just their way of exploring. she'll do it almost every night. I think it'll be fine, my girl has definitely never been hurt by it. just make sure there is nothing sharp she could land on like the end of a stick. her water dish should be fine. but this is just my personal experience with my little trouble maker.

Thank you for easing my worries I just got her, so I expected her to be balled up a bit more until she was used to things, but she was the most active baby at repticon, so I should have known! Also, when I had to take the lid off and she started to crawl out, she clung to the side so hard when I tried to put her back in... once I got her pried off, she got kind of angry (or scared?) about that and struck at me (didn't get any teeth). I bet she's going to be fun

she's exploring and yep, looking to escape. Lol. make sure the top of your tank is secure. also make sure her hides and temps are adequate so you have a place for her to chill out. Congrats on the baby BP!

Thanks! I got clips for the cage, but since I'm not sure I used them right, I also have three heavy books sitting on top for now. I have an under tank heater, but since I didn't know I needed a thermostat with it, and our room temperature is about 80, I have it off for now. I have one on the way, so hopefully she isn't too cold... I've been turning it on in short bursts every now and then because I'm worried about her. She finally settled down now, and is curled up in a hide.

I wouldn't turn it on at all. She's ok, don't worry. Just leave her alone.
