eco earth or aspen bedding

what do you guys think... which is better for ball pythons? what do you think they would prefer??? I feel like eco-earth is so much more comfortable for them and better for humidity. let me know!

I use eco-earth for my display cages I don't use tubs so I don't know how well it would work in there but I think it maintains humidity better. For me it is also easier to clean and rehydrate when it drys out.

I use both depends on the setup. Eco earth in my old boa tank with screen doors. Trying aspen now on half of my ball collection to see how I like it but I have a heat and humidity controlled room so no misting is ever needed as I run paper towel in the rest of the tubs......I tried both with my bigger snakes and the amount of waste is so much after a 3lb rabbit that I ended up changing out all the bedding every week and it sucked and was messy...so back to unprinted paper I went....so far liking the aspen for the ball tubs because of ease of spot cleaning urates and small waste deposits and not doing a complete disinfect as with the paper towels.

The only time I use eco earth in ball tubs is females that are laying eggs soon.

I used cypress mulch for a couple months and just switched to eco earth, which I love. Holds humidity so much better and looks really nice as well. The only problem I have with it is I have to put the mouse on a tupperware lid for feeding so all the substrate doesn't stick to it.

I used to use aspen but it made it too hot and dry and got a funny scent after misting it a few times. I use cypress and eco earth and I'm much happier with the natural appearance and how well it holds humidity. Also Louie cam burrow in it which be likes to do!! I just take him our in feed night and he has no problem going from viv to tub and then after he swallows his food, I replace him into his home!! 10/10 do recommend xx

I use aspen, i get it cheap and its top quality. I don't worry about the humidity all that much, only because I have a humidifier that maintains. It's really all personal preference on bedding.

I used aspen bedding - a mix of the chippy shaved kind and shredded variety. more shredded on the top. I think my snakes have enjoyed it and Elphaba loves to burrow in it. I haven't noticed any smells. it only smells like damp moss after some misting (but that just might be the damp moss I have in their enclosure. Lol. ). aspen is cheap and widely available and snakes seem to luv it!

When I had tanks I used ECO Earth. It looked nice keep humidity better and was easy to spot clean. I now have a rack and just use news paper and large water bowl. The humidity good and they shed perfectly.
