I use both depends on the setup. Eco earth in my old boa tank with screen doors. Trying aspen now on half of my ball collection to see how I like it but I have a heat and humidity controlled room so no misting is ever needed as I run paper towel in the rest of the tubs......I tried both with my bigger snakes and the amount of waste is so much after a 3lb rabbit that I ended up changing out all the bedding every week and it sucked and was messy...so back to unprinted paper I went....so far liking the aspen for the ball tubs because of ease of spot cleaning urates and small waste deposits and not doing a complete disinfect as with the paper towels.
