Crazy snake stories. o_o
Kids, never try this at home.
.... I was lying on the ground with Cake around my arm, when I actually abruptly fell asleep. (?!?!) Thank freaking GOD that when I woke up some 20 whole minutes later, Cake was literally still wrapped around my arm, just in a different position. I assume he moved around a bit, but still stayed fixed to my arm.
I'm pretty sure he has already learned that I am some safe and warm giant, so he just never leaves me. And for that, I am glad. I would never let this happen again though. I'm also 100% sure that if I ever accidentally fell asleep while holding Blackout, she would be long gone when I wake up.
We also need a thread for sharing some crazy snake stories that happened to you. o_o I'd like to hear them!

That's... really bizarre! Do you have a habit of falling asleep suddenly? Very glad Cake was still with you when you woke up.
Hmm, crazy snake stories... Probably the worst/weirdest thing to happen was this:
My boyfriend and I had one of our boas and one of our BP's out at the same time, one of us keeping an eye on each. I got distracted for a moment by the BP and took my eye off the boa, and when I looked back she had vanished.
So I start frantically searching for the tiny little snake, and my boyfriend gets distracted by this, takes his eye off the BP for 2 seconds, and BAM! He starts crawling into the baseboard heater. Thank GOD it was off.
So we're now both completely panicking, he's trying to get the front off the heater, and I'm still searching for the boa.
I FINALLY found her curled up inside a pair of jeans, less than a foot from where she was the last time I saw her. We got the front panel off the heater and the BP came out perfectly fine, not a scratch on him.
All was well, but it scared the ever-loving crap out of both of us. I don't think we've had 2 snakes out at once since. This is also why I advise anyone who has a snake escape to immediately turn off and check their heaters.

I think this had to be inspired by this story: Last night I dreamt that I fell asleep with my Woma python on my arm, and woke up some 8 hours later to find him still there.

Haha... I had a really weird snake dream yesterday as well actually! I dozed off on my couch a few feet from my mouse's tank, and I guess I could hear him in there chewing on things, and I woke up in a panic absolutely convinced he was somehow chewing on my BP lol.

LOL- so you dreamed that you were sleeping in your sleep!
When I first read it, I thought this actually happened. I was just thinking... that is one intensely loyal woma python. Or very comfortable.

Jesus, that is scary. @_@ Those photos of mice chewing on BP are kind of ingrained into my mind too.
That reminds me, a few nights ago I ALSO had a snake dream. Except I dreamed that I had Blackout out on my bed and she wouldn't stop striking at me repeatedly. But I was totally chill about it in my dream, and was just like... oh well, time to get a snake hook soon. LOL.

So, I haven't had any snake dreams recently, but I have two stories, which are snake related... one has an actual snake, one just has "crazy".
Story the First
A couple of weeks ago, DH and I pulled his freshly shed Carpet girl out to handle, and we took her out into the loft where we have a very long table (always covered in game paraphernalia... we have a 6 ft map across it right now for D&D). He sets Luna down on the table, and she starts investigating, and makes her way to the edge of the table, where she takes sort of a strange stance.
She turns into a lot of S's - which to us, is a sign that means "don't startle me or you're gonna get got" and stays really still for a few moments while we keep our distance... and then DH lunges forward and starts yelling "GET PAPER TOWELS!" and laughing with this sort of panicked face. So I grab the paper towels (they're never far, in our house) and rush over, and Luna is taking a MASSIVE DUMP over the side of the table - some is on the floor, and DH has his hands cupped under her, catching her doo-doos as they fall... a scene I never thought I would witness, but there you are. We cleaned up the mess, put her away, and then laughed about it hysterically for the rest of the night.
Story the Second
This happened a couple nights ago. I have long history of doing things in my sleep - talking, laughing, crying, walking, and a number of other shenanigans. In the night in question, DH awoke to find me on my stomach, propped up on my elbows, staring at him... sort of creepy in and of itself, but it gets better. I didn't move, so he asked me, "what's going on?" To which I replied, apparently quite loudly, "SNAKES".
"...what?"
"Snakes."
"...what are you talking about?"
"Don't worry about it." Cue me rolling over, pulling the covers around me, and muttering "snakes" two or three more times before returning to my normally scheduled state of sleep. When DH told me about this the next day, I absolutely doubled over laughing. Now we will just look at each other, and say "SNAKES".

LOL
(I am literally you though- I scare everyone in my house with sleep talking/walking/yelling insanity.)

Thank God it was just a dream! Lol...
..... SNAKES! I love it. I have a tendency to mutter intelligible things in my sleep, but nothing that coherent so far!

omg I've totally fallen asleep with a snake on my body. I was laying on my back, on the floor last week playing with Elphaba. she was lazily wrapped around my wrist/hand in the air above me. it's been really hot in Seattle recently and I've found it kinda hard to sleep so I've been tired. when Elphie got bored, she began to ball. so I placed her on my tummy and I played with my phone. then I moved her to my chest b/c I thought it might be cool if she could feel my heart beat. anyway i fell asleep for a good 30 minutes at least and woken up b/c my cell phone rang. and thank goodness, Elphaba was in a neat coil, still on my chest with her little head still pointed at mine. good girl! whew!
(no snake dreams tho. )

also another one...
I've just began feeding Elphaba in her tank. she lives in a glass terrarium cluttered with hides, foliage, decor, etc. anyway this week with her f/t meal, I was barely in the terrarium when i accidentally dropped her mouse. and I barely picked it up with my tongs when WHAM!! Elphaba strikes the mouse, knocks it out of my tongs. she was stretched probably 10-12 inches, almost halfway across the terrarium, her body still partially in her hot hide. jeezus, she effin' scured me! lol I nearly X_X . I barely had the mouse back in tongs when WHAM!! she strikes and coils, dragging the mouse back to her hide. anyway this was really crazy for me, esp. b/c i didn't expect her strikes from that distance. O_O
Wowwee! Elphie hits like a lil' 220gram semi-truck.
