Well I had an interesting time trying to hold a JCP python once! *laughs as he remebers* That was like trying to hold an eel who was fast as a cheeta. I believe he was trying to get to the uomastyx in the next cage.

I had a Bp who escaped one night, and somehow got onto this curio cabinet I have and knocked some glass things over. My boyfriend jumped outta bed and was about to get the shotgun, lol.

Last weekend Smynx's female Liasis Fuscus CHAWMPED down on my finger and on the return from the strike kinda half turned and DOVE up and over the edge of the sterilite - swear i was just awed (and bleeding from all the little xactos that thing sports in its mouth yeeesh) at seeing it clear the edge like an olympic high jumper. It didn't crawl out or quickly scuttle over - it DOVE liek a coiled spring, man - just amazing more than funny.

My mom thought she killed a water moccasin with a shovel when I was little. The head didn't split or anything, and it looked good, so she put it in the freezer to take up to the elementary school for the science teacher who kept dead animals in jars. She called the principal to let him know, and he said great, bring it on.

Later, she took it out and put it in a paper grocery bag (the only kind, back then), rolled the top down, put us three kids in the cat, and headed toward the school. She stopped on the way at the drive-through Milk Jug to get a gallon of milk, and heard the paper bag start to make noise. She grabbed the top of the bag to keep it rolled down, and drove like a bat out of hell the mile or so to the school. She then marched into the principal's office and plopped a bag full of live water moccasin on his desk and told him, "It's not as dead as I thought it was." Then she turned around and left, leaving him to figure out what to do with the live venomous snake -- presumably pretty unhappy -- in a bag on his desk.

    FYI re: FAQ

LOL!! Wow....that's a great story Marla! If someone pulled a stunt like that in today's hyper-paranoid atmosphere, they'd be in deep doo-doo!

Smulkin...too bad you didn't get that on video!!

oh yeah...today she would be accused of terrorism, attempted murder, they'd have to evacuate the school for the "children's safety", and who knows what else.

LOL! Yeah, good thing it was the mid-70s and people didn't panic quite so much.

Compadres, it is imperative that we crush the freedom fighters before the start of the rainy season. And remember, a shiny new donkey for whomever brings me the head of Colonel Montoya.
